Damian Thomas provides representation to individuals, corporations, public entities, and municipalities in state and federal court in the areas of tort litigation, commercial litigation and employment law. He has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1999, and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Florida and all courts in the state of Florida. In addition, Mr. Thomas is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, as well as the United States Court of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. Thomas earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1996 from the University of Miami and Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law in 1999. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association (DCBA) and American Bar Association (ABA).
Mr. Thomas represents clients in general liability matters, including professional negligence, personal injury and wrongful death, as well as workers’ compensation claims. In this regard, he has litigated cases involving owners of commercial and residential property, state and local governmental entities, and universities with respect to premises liability suits, motor vehicle accidents, sexual abuse and negligent security.
Mr. Thomas is a member of the board of trustees of the Miami-Dade County Law Library. The Miami-Dade County Law Library has been in existence since 1937, and as a free public law library is the only one of its kind in Miami-Dade County. The library is the only legal resource to many pro se litigants and indigent citizens. He was selected by the Supreme Court of Florida and served for six (6) years as a director of The Florida Bar Foundation, a charitable organization established by Florida lawyers and the Court to provide greater access to justice for the disadvantaged and children of the State of Florida. In addition, Mr. Thomas is co-chair of the ABA Section of Litigation Young Lawyer Leadership Program (YLLP), as well as a board member of the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association (WDFJBA) (formerly Black Lawyers Association). He has served as a director of the Dade County Bar Association (DCBA), past President of the Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (DCBA YLS), as well as Vice President of the WDFJBA. His experience in multi-party litigation on the state and federal levels, allows him to serve individual and institutional clients in complex matters.
